The Indian sub-continent tijgerembraces an enormous range of habitats extending from the spectacular peaks of the Himalayas in the north, through forests, lakes and deserts to the moist hills in the south of the country where the shoreline is caressed by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Whatever your passion, be it for mammals (350 species), reptiles/amphibians (600 species) or birds (1300 species), then India has them all. Not to mention huge varieties of both plant and insect!

Is it any wonder that many regard India as the ultimate wildlife destination?
white-eyed-buzzardOn this tour we visit four separate areas south of Delhi. As with the first tour, we have taken great care to choose our places of accommodation and all are very comfortable and provide really nice food together with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The first stop (for three nights) is the famous Kahna National Park. Kanha National Park is one of India's finest tiger reserves. It is spread more than 940 sq km in a horse shoe shaped valley bound by the spurs of the Mekal range. The second location is the Pench National Park. Pench National Park, nestling in the lower southern reaches of the Satpura hills, is named after Pench river which flows from north to south through the Pench National Park. Our next port of call is the Chambal River, where we will spend three nights. We loved the lodge accommodation here and the bird life surrounding the lodge and on the Chambal River. We will take a river trip, visit the Sarus Crane Conservation Centre and its surrounding wetlands, take walks around the fields close to our lodge and we can offer the option for a day’s excursion to Agra where you can visit the Red Fort and the Taj Mahal. From the Chambal River we will make our way to our next destination, the famous bird sanctuary of Bharatpur. Here we will see one of India’s great natural spectacles, with hundreds of Herons, Egrets and Storks breeding colonially. Here we can observe nature from the comfort of our Rickshaw, a boat trip and for those with a sense of purpose you can even hire a bicycle!

All accommodation, all meals and transport (including national flights), fulltime guiding, National Park entrance fees, game-drives, boat-rides on the Chambal River and Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary and airport transfers

Excludes:

International Flights, Camera-fee in N.P.,insurance and personal costs.

Options:

We have organised two consecutive tours which are easy to link. Although a single tour is a superb way to see India, those wishing to participate in both tours have the opportunity to see much more of this spectacular country. Visit Agra: For those who never before have visited India, a visit to Agra might be a must. On day 9 you can make the choice. The extra costs for this visit are to be determined depending on the number of participants

Day 2 - Kanha Nationa Park - am: Flight to Jabalpur, transfer to Kahna N. P. pm: game-drive

Day 4 - Kanha Nationa Park - Birding and Game watching in Kahna National Park.

Day 5 - Pench Jungle Lodge - am:Game-drive in Kahna National Park. pm: Transfer to Pench N.P.

Day 6 - Pench Jungle Lodge - Birding and Game watching in Pench National Park.

Day 7 - Chambal River Lodge - flight back to Delhi, transfer to Chambal River lodge

Day 9 - Chambal River Lodge - Visit to Sarus Crane Conservation Reserve and wetlands**

Day 10 - Bagh Hotel - Birding on route to Bharatpur, visit Various wetlands.

Day 11 - Bagh Hotel - Birding in Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary.

Day 12 - Delhi Hotel - Birding in Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. pm: Drive back to Delhi

Day 13 - Transfer to Airport, Departure
